About us

Breathing and Brain Function Lab was established in 2014 by focusing on examination pathophysiology of asthma. recently,  In breathing and brain function lab, we evaluate connection between respiration and brain activity in human and animal. In this lab, we use electrophysiological and behavioral methods to find effect of nasal respiration on cognitive function. For this purpose we apply electrodes on animal brain and record local field potential from different brain areas in Alzheimer or asthmatic rats in rest, exploration and anesthesia stages. Moreover, we record electroencephalogram simultaneous to respiration from healthy and coma patients to examine effect of nasal respiration of brain function.
